Founded in 1987, ANTEA is an association that provides free home and hospice care to terminally ill patients of all ages no longer responsive to specific treatments. Through palliative care the ANTEA’s team provides patients with medical and nursing care, as well as psychological, physiotherapeutic and social support, with a view to granting the patient and his/her family the best quality of life.
ANTEA created its Centre for Training and Research in Palliative Medicine in 2000: ANTEA Formad, certified according to the norm UNI EN ISO 9001:2000. ANTEA Formad is specialised in didactic planning and in the organisation of master courses, training, seminars, conferences and workshops for professionals in the healthcare and sociomedical sectors.
Thanks to our dedication and commitment, as well as the help provided by many supporters, ANTEA assisted in these past twenty years more than 11 000 people, thus becoming a reference in the field of palliative care in Italy.
Our passion, involvement and enthusiasm lead us to constantly comparing and sharing experiences; this represents a further step towards our main goals: (i) granting the access to high-quality palliative care to an ever-increasing number of people and (ii) developing training and research in this field.
This is the reason why we decided to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of ANTEA with this worldwide conference.
ANTEA Worldwide Palliative Care Conference stems from the need to understand the current state
of art of palliative care around the world. It also provides professionals working on the field – in different cultural environments and often with limited resources -- the opportunity to share and compare their experiences.
ANTEA Worldwide Palliative Care Conference will be held in collaboration with the European Association for Palliative Care (EAPC). EAPC cooperates in the organisation of the Conference, especially for the Session "Palliative Care around the world" and the Special Session “Core Curricula”.
The Worldwide Palliative Care Congress stems from the need to understand the current state of art of palliative care around the world. It also provides professionals working on the field -- in different cultural environments and often with limited resources -- the opportunity to share and compare their experiences.

ANTEA è un’associazione nata nel 1987 con lo scopo di garantire assistenza gratuita, sia in hospice che a domicilio, a pazienti terminali di tutte le età che non rispondono più a trattamenti terapeutici specifici. Attraverso le cure palliative l’equipe ANTEA assicura, oltre al sostegno medico ed infermieristico, anche un supporto psicologico, fisioterapico e sociale al fine di garantire la migliore qualità di vita possibile al paziente e alla sua famiglia.
Nel 2000 inoltre è stato istituito il Centro di Formazione e Ricerca in Medicina Palliativa dell’Associazione ANTEA: ANTEA Formad, certificato secondo la norma UNI EN ISO 9001:2000. ANTEA Formad è specializzato nella progettazione didattica e nell’organizzazione di Master universitari, corsi di formazione, seminari e convegni rivolti a professionisti del settore socio-sanitario.
Con molto impegno, dedizione e grazie ai numerosi amici che ci hanno aiutato e ci sostengono, ANTEA, nei suoi 20 anni di attività, ha assistito oltre 11.000 persone, diventando punto di riferimento a livello nazionale nel campo delle cure palliative.
La passione, l’entusiasmo ed il nostro coinvolgimento ci spingono, oggi come ieri, al confronto e alla condivisione dell’esperienza, certi che questo possa costituire un ulteriore passo verso il nostro obiettivo di sempre: fare in modo che un numero sempre maggiore di persone possa accedere a cure palliative di qualità e sviluppare formazione e ricerca in questo campo. Per questi motivi abbiamo deciso di celebrare i vent’anni dell’ANTEA con un convegno mondiale.
ANTEA Worldwide Palliative Care Conference nasce dall’esigenza di comprendere quale sia lo stato attuale delle cure palliative nel mondo, dando a tutti i professionisti del settore che lavorano ogni giorno sul campo, in contesti culturali diversi e spesso con risorse limitate, l’opportunità di raccontare la propria esperienza e di confrontarsi con realtà diverse.
ANTEA Worldwide Palliative Care Conference è organizzato in collaborazione con la European Association for Palliative Care (EAPC) che curerà, in particolare, la Sessione "Palliative Care around the world" e la Sessione Speciale “Core Curricula”.
